All about Sunday Club

At St Botolph’s Church we want to make all children feel as welcome as possible. We believe that if children are to grow in faith, they must feel part of the congregation and learn how to be part of our worship. In this way they can learn about the Christian faith  and grow up as Christians and members of the church..

Our pattern of Sunday services is designed to meet the needs of both children and adults.

On Sundays when meetings are held, the children meet in church before 10am. They leave during the first hymn, and walk through the church into the hall. Lions (7-10yrs) return during the Peace, and Bears (3-7yrs) join with us at the distribution of bread and wine.

We encourage all children in church to join the Sunday Club, but it is not compulsory and children must make their own decision. Crayons, paper and books are available at the church door, which the children may take to their pew.

In the Sunday Club the children will learn about Jesus, the Bible and the Christian faith in a fun way, using art and craft, drama and music.

They learn in a safe and happy environment and always make something to take home. At the end of the service they share what they have done with the congregation, so they are valued and encouraged in what they do.

PLEASE NOTE—Parents will need to fill in a form giving child’s name, address and contact phone number as well as age and date of birth. A note of any medical conditions will also need to be made. When completed,  these forms are kept in our church office.

Forms are available from the Churchwardens, Janice and David, or from Marion.

   St Botolphs Toddler Group.

Welcome to St Botolph's Toddler Group. As far we know the group has been running under various volunteers for 20+ years.

We meet every Wednesday morning 9.30-12.00 noon. We welcome mums, dads, grandparents, carers anybody as long as you bring children. You can arrive and leave at anytime. Older siblings are welcome in the school holidays. We are open all year except for Holy Week and School Christmas Holidays.

Our volunteers that run the group are Debra, Amanda and Rachael.

We aim to organize a range of activities to help the children using the group develop their Social, Physical, Communication, Intellectual and Emotional Skills.

We work on a 3 week programme so the same toys are not out every week.E.g;

Week 1, Small world, musical toys and books.

Week 2, Dressing up, home corner, tents, puzzles.

Week 3,  Tumble tots, Large play, Art.

We also offer a different craft activity each week and a nutritious snack.

St Botolphs Toddler Group costs 1.50 per family. This money covers the cost of refreshments, snacks, activities, replacing equipment, Birthday and Christmas presents.

If it is your Childs birthday we ask you to bring a cake so we can sing and celebrate their day.

At Christmas we organize a party and in the summer an outing.

Whilst at the group children you bring are your responsibility.

We hope you will join us and enjoy our group.
