Easter and Holy Week

Palm Sunday, Holy Week, Good Friday and Easter will be different this year as we follow the strict guidelines of the Church of England.

Firstly we must all adhere to   

at all times.

 

No mingling, no lingering! We cannot emphasise this too greatly......

 

28th March - Palm Sunday at St Botolph’s

9.30am Blessing of Palms and the Palm Sunday reading – will take place on the grass triangle in the Church yard, near the hall. Palm crosses will be in envelopes and you are encouraged to take one (or more)  for yourself and  for someone else.

This will be followed by Palm Sunday Eucharist (said service) and Passion Reading in church – please process in a socially distanced way and sit in marked pews.

 

31st March –Wednesday of Holy Week –

 St Botolph’s Church open for private prayer 11am – 12 noon.

 

1st April - Maundy Thursday at St Botolph’s 

7pm Eucharist of the Last Supper (please note no foot washing, Altar of Repose or Silent Vigil). This will be a said service.

2nd April - Good Friday at St Botolph’s 

2pm Service of the Last Hour, will take place in the Churchyard (please pray for a fine day!)        A time for music (no singing) readings, prayers and silence; please ensure that you bring your own chair as we cannot supply these. 

4th April - Easter Day at St Botolph’s

9.30am  The bonfire is lit in the church yard (on the grass triangle) and the Paschal Candle is lit and blessed. No candles for the congregation in line with restrictions.

We process into church, led by Christ’s Resurrection light, for a said Eucharist Service. 

St Botolph’s Church open for private prayer, 11am -12 noon on Wednesdays  7th, 14th, 21st and 28th April

 

‘Chuck it in the Bucket’ is back! Please put your cheques, collection envelopes and any cash into the blue buckets in church. It can then be kept for a minimum of 72 hours before it is banked, in line with Church of England guidelines.
