Baptisms

Baptisms

We're delighted you're thinking of baptism for your child. Your child is precious to you and precious to God.

In baptism, you as parents are: thanking God for the gift of life, deciding to start your child on the journey of faith, asking for the Church's support, and encouraging them in becoming a member of the local and worldwide Christian family. Baptism is a 'sacrament': a visible sign of God's love.

Teenagers and adults may also be baptised (you’re never too old!) and sometimes this is included within a celebration of Confirmation by the Bishop.

Baptisms (Christenings) are generally held at 9.30am or 12noon on the 4th Sunday at St Botolph’s and during the service at St Mark’s on the first three Sunday's.
