St Botolph’s church has a proud tradition of having a robed choir. They are at each Sunday Eucharist helping those in the congregation by leading the singing worship.
As well as singing in the church on a Sunday the choir takes part in various other events throughout the year, some of these include a concert with the Salvation Army Band at Christmas, singing at Summer and Christmas fairs also weddings and funerals.
The choir is affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music. Members of the choir have the opportunity to take part in their music training scheme called ‘Voice for Life’. This gives each of the training members the musical skills they need to read and sing music. When they pass each of the levels they are then rewarded with a different colour ribbon to wear with their robes.
The different levels to work through are;
Light Blue, Dark Blue, Red and yellow.
